In the steep lime walls of the Gesäuse you can now study climbing techniques. What kind of equipment do I need and how do I belay in a correct and safe way? How do I behave when doing the lead climbing and what should I consider when rappelling? Technique training as well as making knots is part of this BaseCamp.
In this case the lecturer is a mountain guide who knows the Gesäuse mountains like the back of his hands and who has special tipps like climbing tours for rainy days or information about alpine dangers. The participants have to bring along a good condition for a whole-day-tour of about 6 hours and up to 1000 metres in altitude as well as a basic mountain hiking experience. The participants are at least 14 years old, not scared of heights and know about how move around in mountaineous areas.
At the end of the course the course members have had some days in the nature jewel Gesäuse and for sure have improved their own climbing techniques. Furthermore they learned how to plan tours, recognize their own limits and how to manage the pitches of the Gesäuse mountains. So much knowledge you can benefit from!
