Kaiserau in Summer

Kaiserau during summer

Kaiserau offers something for both summer and winter. In summer the walking paths for the whole family, and the horses and cows that make this area their summer resort, warm every visitor’s heart. Park your car and get going!

Kaiserau is a popular destination – for visitors and locals alike. Why? One reason is because at the high plateau you can already enjoy the first beams of sunshine when the valley below is still thick with fog. Another is the spectacular mountain scenery that takes you in and allows you to breathe freely. It could also be something else entirely though, as everyone finds their own Gesäuse.

Just a short hop to Klinke Hütte Lodge

You can either ascend 400 metres to Klinke Hütte Lodge on foot, or you can simply get there by car via the toll road – walking is said to be a whole lot healthier though. The lodge is only a stone’s throw away and the short walk doesn’t require much effort.

Something for everyone

Kaiserau is the perfect starting point for several hikes. Those who like to stay at the high plateau are sure to appreciate the comfortable benches, where you can chat the time away and relax. Or you can also enjoy the countless walking routes for the whole family. Sportalm restaurant provides the perfect snacks and refreshments for before or after any activity. And let’s not forget about Kaiserau Castle, which is a true feast for the eyes.
